Upcoming Yoga Class
Are you ready for Yoga? We are planning on having a Yoga class at the community center starting in January. Plum Blossom Zendo in Pittsburgh suggested a number of instructors and we’ve selected Tracy Linza. Tracy has offered to teach a basic and/or an advanced class on a weekly basis this winter. Read on to find out more about this class and to sign up.
Yoga Class at the Center
Tracy Linza has agreed to start a Yoga class at the community center. This is part of a larger project sponsored by the Plum Blossom Zendo of Pittsburgh to offer different forms of meditation at the center. The Yoga class is the first form of medidation to be studied other form that may be offered include Tai Chi, Sitting and Walking meditation.
The course we are suggesting is an eight week course offered on Mondays at 8 pm. Students will be required to bring their own mats and pay a sitting fee. The sitting fee will be determined by the number of students in the class and will probably be no less than $6 and no more than $12 per week. Details about the fee structure will be determined when the class size has been determined. Please fill out the form below to reserve a seat for the class and to be contacted about the start date and fee structure.
Here is some information about the classes Tracy hopes to be teaching:
Yoga Basics
This class is excellent for all individuals looking to improve range of motion, breathing technique, body awareness, joint stiffness, balance, muscle endurance, strength, flexibility and stress level. This class will include sun salutations, seated and standing postures and some balancing postures with appropriate modifications offered throughout class.
Yoga Flow
Yoga Flow is a sequence of postures linking body, breath, movement and spirit. It is designed to promote lower and upper body strength, balance and flexibility. Focusing on the breath allows the student to let go of tension and anxiety and helps to reconnect the body on a more profound level while increasing energy levels and releasing toxins.
